The County Liners 4-H club members are from Antelope and Madison Counties and follow the 4-H motto: "To make the best better". The Mission of 4-H is "to empower youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults". The purpose of 4-H is "to stimulate members' personal growth and development, to learn practical life skills, and to develop effective leadership and responsible citizenship".

What County Liners do:

  • Host skillbuilding meetings including, for example: cookie baking, cake decorating, welding, shooting practices, photography, sewing, large animal practices and showmanship skills (multiple animals).
  • Hold horse practices and host an annual County Liner Horse Show at the Antelope County Fairgrounds.
  • Pick up trash in the road ditches along a stretch of highway between Meadow Grove and Tilden. This is hard work, but is undeniably a great opportunity to discuss responsibility and caring for the planet.
  • Assist with concession stand duties during the Antelope County Fair.

The County Liners Club has a long-standing history with 4-H and is one of the oldest clubs in Antelope County. It is often the recipient of the Herdsmanship Award during fair week. The award money is donated each year to sponsor trophies for the following year's fair.

In 2015, the County Liners were awarded Club of the Year in Antelope County, and in 2017 were awarded the Club of the Month for their involvement in the community and promotion of 4-H.

Please contact a leader if you have interest in becoming a County Liner or have any questions regarding the 4-H program.
